One of the useful options in the Apple ecosystem allows you to receive calls from your smartphone on any nearby gadget. This can be any iPad or Mac on the same Apple ID account.
Receiving calls on a Mac is not always convenient, sometimes the chip only gets in the way, duplicating the melody from the iPhone. Now we’ll tell you how to completely or temporarily disable call reception on your Apple computer.
Turn off on macOS
- Open FaceTime → “Settings”
- Uncheck the “Calls from iPhone” option
Turn off on iOS
- Open Settings → Phone
- Select “On other devices”
- Turn off the toggle switch next to your Mac.
How to temporarily disconnect incoming calls on a Mac
- You can ask Siri to turn on Do Not Disturb mode.
- You can also open Controls in the top-right corner of the screen and select Do Not Disturb mode.
- You can go to System Preferences > Notifications > Do Not Disturb and set up a schedule for the mode.
- Note that an active Do Not Disturb mode will not skip all notifications on your Mac altogether.
Done! Now you won’t be disturbed by incoming calls on your Mac anymore. FaceTime calls continue to flow to all your devices.
