Analyst firm Counterpoint Research has reported that Apple has overtaken Android makers for the first time in smartphone market coverage in the US.

Estimates were made on the basis of “active installed base, not shipments. The active installed base counts the millions of people attracted to the Apple ecosystem through the used phone market, as well as those who use iPhones bought many years ago.
Next week, Apple will show the iPhone 14. Experts believe that the appearance of a cheap Plus version will additionally encourage switching from Android to iOS.
