You are required to have at least one email. Email is required to use an Apple device to its full potential. Of course, this is valid for many sites and services. You most likely have multiple email addresses to manage. There, an email client takes on its full meaning, it avoids going to the site of each email address. Here is a list of email client apps for Mac.
1. Apple Mail
Impossible to talk about the different mail client apps available on Mac without talking about the one offered by Apple by default: Apple Mail.
As you might expect, it’s seamlessly integrated with macOS, iOS, and watchOS.
This application has the advantage of supporting all mailboxes. The main services are configured and for the others you will have to configure the sending and receiving server.
Apart from that, it’s a classic email client with similar functionality on iPhone such as the ability to annotate an attachment. Also, if the e-mail is saved in your contacts, the photo of it may appear next to it. This visual side is practical, especially for identifying the author of the email and preventing spam.
You can always add functionality through modules.
2. Outlook
All Windows users know its name: Outlook . Microsoft, Apple’s competitor, has exported its application for macOS, but also for iOS and watchOS.
She is not transcendent. It has the same features for years and similar to Apple Mail. However, its design is different. We like or we don’t like the menu bar. Some will say it’s too big, too high, while others will say it’s easy to access and visual.
3. Spark
Spark is an email client that often comes up when talking about an email client regardless of giants like Apple, Microsoft or Google.
It too is available on your iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
Not to mention the integration of applications such as iCloud Drive, Dropbox, One Drive or even Google Drive, its advantage, in the free version, is the possibility of sending e-mails later, of scheduling them.
It can synchronize with your contacts integrating the contact’s photo.
Its paid version is a real team collaboration tool.
4. AirMail
At first glance, AirMail has a minimalist interface with the ability to minimize the window allowing it to take up as much space as the Messages app.
This app is not lacking in features. You can create a PDF of your email, send email later, create tasks…
With AirMail, you will be able to personalize it so that it adapts to your use.
This email client is available on Mac, iPhone, Apple Watch and has its own stickers for Messages. A paid version exists.
5. Spike
Spike is perhaps one of the most comprehensive free email client apps on Mac.
The interface is minimalist while being intuitive. It removes bulky information such as headers. Stay focused on the essentials with emails, groups, emails that can turn into instant messaging (or near). Additionally, this app includes notes (like Apple’s Notes) and to-do lists. This to-do-list doesn’t have super advanced features, but it’s close to Apple’s Reminders.
Spike also exists on iPhone and iPad, but not on Apple Watch.
6. MailMate
Now let’s move on to paid email client apps on Mac and start with MailMate .
This mail client can destabilize more than one since everything is in plain text. This does not prevent it from being completely HTML compatible.
MailMate, and its HTML functionalities in plain text version, allowing a visualization of the minimum is purchased for 51.36 €.
7. Hey
This email client has an ergonomic interface and creates your own address in @hey.com. Unlike previous applications presented, the only address that is integrated is the one in @hey.com.
Despite its functionality, this can be a hindrance.
Hey works with a $99 per year or $12 per month subscription and no one.
8. PostBox
At first glance, this application looks like Apple’s Mail, but nicer and prettier. However, like many of its competitors, it integrates several other applications.
Unfortunately, it does not have interesting features such as Repeat or Send later.
Its advantage is the possibility of combining, of grouping, e-mail addresses between them. Ideal for making a group with all your personal email addresses on one side and professional ones on the other.
PostBox retails for $59.
